Project ALPACA Reaches Funding Goal!

I am in awe.

Having never done a Kickstarter before, shoot, having never done SO MUCH of this entire process before, people still came out and supported us. In this brand new, “let’s see what sticks to the wall” hop of faith, we made it. I have a few dozen emotions swirling about. There’s the validation and affirmation that this is legitimate and possible. There’s a sense of humility, knowing that we were just doing the best with what we had and people still helped. There’s relief that the game will happen. As in, it will become a reality and be sent to people’s homes, a concept I am still wrapping my head around. AND OF COURSE, there is a new shadow looming as we enter the next phases of shipping and fulfillment. Just as Semisonic predicted in 1998:

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.

So as the campaign comes to a close (5 days left as of this writing!) and one set of worries goes away, another set grows in its place. But its not a bad worry! Because working through shipping and printing will be its own adventure full of lessons and ups and downs just like the rest of this process has been so far. I want to do a more official postmortem here on the site after everything is said and done, but I at least wanted to acknowledge how much we have learned and how to be even better next time at this milestone. Because if anything, this has guaranteed there will be a next time. And it will be GREAT.

So keep your eyes peeled for more games coming up in the future and thank you for your support! If you still want to pick up a copy before the campaign ends at 10:00am on Thursday 2/22, check it out on Kickstarter here.
